TNT Twirlers' Mission & Purpose
We know there are a lot of options for your child's sports involvement, especially in baton twirling. TNT Twirlers sets itself apart by setting our athletes up for a successful future, with unique initiatives and opportunities that you won't find anywhere else!
Community Service
TNT is more than just a baton-twirling team. We offer volunteer opportunities to our athletes throughout the year to give back to our community! We feel it is important for our young athletes to give back to a community that supports them in so many different ways! Some of our previous initiatives include; fall cleanups at Sunshine Prevention Center, food drives for Branches during Thanksgiving, craft drives for Stony Brook Children's Hospital, making PB&Js for a local food pantry, and more!
Community Performances
TNT athletes have the opportunity to become ambassadors for the sport of baton twirling through community performances at local festivals and parades. Some of our previous community performances include the NYC Veteran's Day Parade, Pathcogue Italian Festival, Rocky Point St. Patrick's Day Parade, Setauket Memorial Day Parade and PJS 4th of July Parade!
Lifelong Friendships
TNT Twirlers is founded in friendship, as our Executive Board are all former teammates, coaches and friends from over 20 years of twirling together. TNT athletes become a family in the inclusive and encouraging environment we've created for our organization. With our annual Holiday Party, Recital, and End Of The Year Party, plus practices and travel, our athletes create lifelong friendships and bonds with their teammates inside and outside the gym! Our athletes learn what it means to be a part of a team and to lead by example for the future generation of baton twirlers.
Life Skills & Preparation for Future Success
At TNT, it is important that we guide our athletes towards success in their futures outside of being an athlete. Our Dynamite Travel athletes are taught important interview, networking and conversational skills to apply later on in their future. Our coaches also help athletes with college prep, and auditions for Feature Twirler positions across the country. Additionally, 90% of our graduating athletes that stay on Long Island for college accept jobs with TNT to become coaches for the next generation of athletes. We are dedicated to giving our athletes the life skills to be the best they can be!
Confidence Building
Working with athletes of all ages, it is important that our athletes build their self-confidence, and learn how to perform in front of an audience and judges. Our coaches create an inclusive, uplifting practice and competition environment to let each athlete shine! This sets our athletes up for future success in presenting publically, and having confidence in their capabilities!
Positive Coaching!
Our TNT coaches are every athlete's biggest cheerleaders and have a unique approach that positively teaches kids responsibility and sportsmanship. Our TNT coaches are certified by the Positive Coaching Alliance from AAU which focuses on coaching in a positive, productive manner that isn't harmful to impressionable young athletes. It's important to us that our athletes always leave practices and competitions feeling supported!
